I was really lucky to get to play bass with Dash Crofts of, Seals and Crofts fame, a few years ago. We played all the hits including, Get Closer, Summer Breeze, Diamond Girl, etc.
My good buddy and musical partner, Avrel Seale, had been asked to play for a Bahai’ celebration, that year, and decided to see if Dash would agree to play. Dash is a Bahai’ and lives in our area and agreed to do it and, because the Bahai bass player had backed out, Avrel asked me to step in a play. It was really fun, we had Dash over to my house for a rehearsal a week or so before, which is a funny story in and of itself. He was so nice and seemed to enjoy our playing and even suggested taking us on the road with him. I don’t believe he has played that much since then, perhaps a few times in and around Austin, but I think he’s pretty much retired to the hill country with his horses.
