90 Minute set down at Geraldine’s tonight! Christina Cavazos, Joel De La Garza, on drums, and myself on the bass formed the 3 piece band that hit the stage.
Geraldine’s had these cool igloos out on the patio, which was 4 floors up and has a stunning view of downtown Austin. These igloos came with their own fire place, turntable, games and lounge chairs…the perfect spot to chill out before we played.
Geraldine’s is a great place to play..the sound system is top notch, the folks are really nice and the customers really love the music and always give us their undivided attention. This will be the last gig for a few months as Christina heads back to NYC for her spring semester.

When we play at most places, they usually give drink tickets to the band, as a sort of perk. At Geraldine’s, we always get these cool guitar picks in place of drink tickets, and I usually keep at least one, however, last night I only had sparkling water with lime, which they were kind enough to comp so I didn’t have to use my drink picks…anyway, a nice keepsake.
This was the setlist for the night..I know most all of Christina’s songs by heart but there are a few new ones that she added so I usually just jot down a few chord changes for new songs so I can have something to refer to during the gig…I just got some new glasses though, so I found that I could hardly see my notes which were way down on the ground, yikes! Sucks getting old for sure. All went well though..we played and sounded great!
